If you become unwell, with a fever OR respiratory symptoms (cough, sore throat, shortness of breath), please visit your GP or Emergency Department, and notify the hospital.
If you have your swab taken at a non-Epworth facility, please call us to inform us of the result and bring validation of your swab result when you present for admission. This is a mandatory requirement and the admission cannot proceed without your COVID-19 swab results.
Any questions or advice on where Epworth patients can get tested, please contact 03 9426 6001
We have been advised from DHHS today that all patients scheduled for a surgical procedure at Epworth Freemasons as of the 15th July will require COVID 19 testing prior to admission.
Number 1 Fertility recommends any patient scheduled for a procedure early next week will require to be tested this weekend, you are then advised to stay at home in isolation unless you require further blood screening or ultrasounds, where it is advised you wear a mask.
We understand Epworth will be setting up a COVID19 pop up clinic at both Richmond and Eastern locations. You must allow at least 72 hours for tests to be processed and results received. A proof of test results will be required prior or on the day of your procedure. DHHS will not accept any previous COVID19 test results other than 72 hours prior to your procedure.
Number 1 Fertility will continue to follow DHHS guidelines to ensure the safety of our patients, staff, and doctors, we will communicate the most current information to you once we receive any update.
Thank you for your patience and keep safe.
Dr Lynn Burmeister
We are working hard to continue to reduce your stress during this time.
All efforts are being made to ensure that safe practice is used to prevent any potential for coronavirus spread occurring at our facilities, potentially affecting you, our clients and our staff.
The Department of Health has issued directives that all clients of Health Providers need to follow:
If you have returned from overseas travel you are required to self-isolate for 14 days and cannot attend the clinic.
If you have had close contact with a person suffering from Coronavirus you are required to self-isolate for 14 days and cannot attend the clinic, close contact is being face-to-face for approximately 15 minutes with a person who is a confirmed case and had symptoms at the time or showed symptoms within 24 hours later.
If you have started treatment with us and fall within the above criteria Dr Lynn needs to be notified as your egg collection or transfer may need to be cancelled for that time and alternative plans made. If your partner is part of that treatment plan and will need to attend a health facility the same rules apply for them.
Furthermore, any procedure that is face-to-face, we need to limit support people attending the clinic or hospital to decrease the number of persons present in the clinics at any time and therefore the potential for coronavirus spread.
Check the website of the hospital in case they have any other urgent updates before you attend.
If you have any questions at all about your appointment or need reschedule, call us on 1800 861 177.
